Some people say: butterflies are the guides of dead souls, some butterflies can lead souls to the way of the dead, while others. . . . . .
The time displayed on the wall clock was 5:45, 15 minutes before the execution time. I tried my best to control my trembling hands and told myself to calm down.
“I’m a man, nothing can scare me, isn’t it just death, his mother’s head fell off, a bowl of big scars, I will still be a good man after 18 years.” This was my truest thought at the time.
At some point, the door of the execution room opened, and a young woman walked in. Wearing a pink HELLOKITTY T-shirt and light blue denim shorts, with a pair of the latest sunglasses on the bridge of his nose.
“Isn’t this old Xu?” I almost couldn’t believe my eyes.
“It’s me, what’s the matter?” she said, taking off her sunglasses.
“Why are you here? Are you here to see me?” I immediately forgot the fear in my heart and asked full of doubts.
“Let me catch my breath first, can I trouble you to bring me a bottle of cola and orange juice, I want ice.” Soon a WJ came in with a bottle of drink and put it in front of Lao Xu. Old Xu said: “Thank you” and that WJ went out very consciously.
It’s hot outside, but it’s cool inside. “Old Xu took a sip of orange juice and said, “What do you want to ask?” ”
“Why are you here?” I asked.
“I’m here to see you off,” she replied.
“Send me off? How? Could it be that you came to see me off?” I said in a slightly sarcastic tone.
Old Xu nodded silently.
“Nonsense, you are just a powerless woman, how could they ask you to send me on the road.” I roared angrily.
Old Xu didn’t speak, just looked at me silently.
I saw that she didn’t mean to be joking at all, so I asked solemnly: “Is what you said true?”
“Yes!” Lao Xu’s answer was straightforward, but this straightforwardness gave me goosebumps all over my body.
“Why you? Isn’t this kind of thing supposed to be done by WJ?” I still don’t want to believe this is true, I hope to hear her tell me that she just came to see me for the last time, and what she just said was just to ease my nervousness.
“How should I say it? It’s very complicated to talk about. I have time to talk, but I’m afraid you don’t have time to listen.” After finishing speaking, Lao Xu pointed to the wall clock on the wall, which showed the time at 5:48.
